Want to learn more about how to be safe on the water? Check out these SUP SAFETY workshops from NZ SUP to find out all about the essential aspects of SUP safety. The workshop will be led by NZ National SUP Safety Officer Bill Dawes, and will cover the essential aspects of SUP safety, equipment choices for the conditions and how to use it, understanding the conditions, how to read them, what you need to know and think about, and what might go wrong and what to do about it. You’ll learn loads, and get chance to have a go with various items of safety equipment. It’s very informal and each workshop is tailored to suit the group and the local paddling environment.  It’ll last around 2  –  2.5 hours, and there should be enough time for chat about other aspects of SUP as well, again, based on what the group is interested in discussing.

The venue can only hold 20 participants so prior booking is essential. There is a small fee per person of $5 to cover refreshments – the local paddling fraternity may well be bringing home made cake (unless the weather is perfect for paddling apparently, in which case it’ll be shop-bought!).
